Display Your Photos on Digital Framez

One of the things I want to receive as a gift this Christmas is a digital photo frame. I've seen one in a friend's house and I thought it's really cool and so unique. I love displaying precious photos of my family in my house too. They are practically everywhere -- on the wall, top of the piano, coffee table, end table, lamp stand, dresser and on the fridge door. From the traditional photo frame, photos can now be viewed as a slide show on a nice and stylish frame. The nicest thing about it is you can display 100's or more photos, non-stop.

Digital Framez is proud to present their lcd digital frames to you. You can choose any frame or size you want. They have 7" aluminum coated frame, 8.4" black and acrylic frame, 10.4" black frame, 15" black frame and more models to choose from.

Digital picture frame is really a great Christmas gift for friends and relatives. I know because I want to have one! Or, get one as Christmas present for yourself. It's such a delightful way of presenting images that mean so much.

PPP Counts Me In

PPP finally approved my blog. For a while I thought they never will. As soon as I got the notice that I'm good to go with PPP I immediately went to their pretty site and looked for opps. At first, I didnt know how to go around the site because they have a different system, pages, colors, stuff like that. Probably I just gotten used to the other sites which I thought were more comprehensive, not a lot of blings-blings. It was all new to me... but! it didnt take long for me to find my ways around there, thanks to Tess again, she makes it easy for me. I'm lazy, that's the truth. Then found out for myself, PPP is a very user-friendly site after all. I love it! Just submitted my very first post for them. Hope it gets approved. Want to do a lot more.

"Sweeney Todd" - A Must See Film

How vengeful can one get against someone else who caused him and his loved ones extreme pain? It's a fact that some people do seek revenge because someone has maimed them so bad physically, mentally and emotionally. This is how Sweeney Todd is in Tim Burton's movie, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber on Fleet Street."

Played by the high caliber and versatile actor Johnny Depp, Sweeney Todd becomes very vengeful after he is unjustly sent to prison. While in prison he vows revenge not only for the cruel punishment done on him but for the devastating consequence that happened to his family. Find out how Sweeney Todd excutes his revenge in this movie. Joining Depp is Helena Bonham Carter who plays as Mrs. Lovett, Sweeney's accomplice in all his vengeful actions.

If you like Johnny Depp like I do, then you must have seen most, if not all, of his movies. Some such of his movies are the Pirates of the Caribbean, The Libertine, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sleepy Hallow, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, Finding Neverland and What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

Catch him again in his latest movie "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber on Fleet Street" soon to be shown in the theaters near you. To find out more about the movie, visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace or visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site.

This Afternoon

Outside this afternoon was so beautiful -- breezy, not too cold in fact it felt so good. The colors of fall still evident on the leaves of the trees made the moment even more dramatic and enticing to become part of nature. I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood along with Cupcake, my JRT doggie. About 100 feet away from the house Marc came up running saying he wanted to join us. I asked Marielle if she wanted to come too but she opted to play with Emma, our neighbor's daughter. We walked up to the Clubhouse where the pool and playground are. Marc and I took the swing while Cupcake barked wildly as we swung up and down. She barks at anything moving actually. And she chases anything running too, with no sense of danger at all that's why she had that accident last year. She chased a cat accross the street and got hit by a truck. Anyways, we walked back home after about 30 minutes. It was a very good 30 minutes with my son and my dog.

Encounter With A Stranger

I was in a book store yesterday, looking for some stuff that I can get my kids as Christmas presents. I was done shopping but I lingered at this book shelf where a huge astronomy book was displayed. I was particularly attracted to the nice color pictures of the different canstellations so I started browsing and reading through some of the pages.

I was so engrossed with the book when suddenly somebody touched my shoulder. I turned around and saw a guy, a white American, with stocky built and a little taller than me. At first, I thought I did something wrong. This is how our exchange was:

stranger: "So you like astronomy, huh?"
me: (my eyes glued on the pages) "Um, I like the stars, galaxy, canstellations ...
stuff like that."
stranger: "You do stargazing?"
me: (still not looking at him) "Sometimes."
stranger: "Do you have a telescope?"
me: "We used to have one but now it's broken."
stranger: "No problem, I will buy you one."
me: (now trying to leave because I start feeling annoyed) "Yeah right... no, but thanks."
stranger: "Hey, I can buy you that book at least."
me: (pretending to be graceful) "You're nice but again, no and thanks anyway."
stranger: "What about a cup of coffee, there's a coffee shop right here in the store."
me: "I know but ... excuse me, I need to go."
stranger: "Wait ..."

I left the place with hurried steps, glancing back to see if he was following me. He wasnt so I felt comfortable again. That was a very weird encounter. I told Dean about it. He said that the guy was obviously hitting on me because I wasnt wearing my wedding ring (Dean's not wearing his either) and I was so naive that I should have left right after he offered a telescope! Actually I knew exactly what the guy was doing. I was just hoping that he was sensitive enough to know I wasnt interested.

Cheap Hotels For Your European Tour

My husband loves to travel. It's one of his passions actually. And I'm glad that he is because through him I get to travel too and visit beautiful places and learn their history, culture and traditions. In the future, I really like to be able to travel outside of the country. I want to visit and explore Europe especially London, Paris, Berlin or Barcelona.

Paris, the city of light is popularly known for the Eiffel Tower which is the most famous symbol of France. Other attractions include Notre-Dame Cathedral, The Arc de Triomphe, The Louvre Museum, The Champs-Elysées, Bastille Quarter & Bastille Opera, Versailles, La Concorde and the list goes on. If you plan to visit the city book yourself at any of the Paris Hotels and enjoy accommodation at very low rates and highest ethical standards.

London, the capital city of the United Kingdom is such a spectacular city with all its history, culture, entertainment, shopping, royalty and all-around ambiance. The must sees in London are the British museum and British Library, the Tower of London, the Crown Jewels, Big Ben, Parliament, London Bridge, Buckingham Palace, St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abby and many more must-sees! So make your hotel reservations at London Hotels.

My Day Today

After the kids' Thanksgiving break, I didnt feel ready to wake up early again to help them prep up for school. So last night, I set the alarm clock at 6:30 am instead of 6:00 so I could sleep in a little bit more. Only I had to take them to school myself because there's no way they can catch the school bus.

Temperature today was warm surprisingly. It's been really cold the past many days which makes me so tamad to go out. Anyways, at around 11 this morning I went to pick up Dean at RoomStore so we could have lunch together. I wanted us to go to Olive Garden but decided to try the food court in the mall instead. While there I looked around for possible Christmas presents.

After lunch, I went to Wachovia to make a deposit then went to Piggly Wiggly to buy milk and eggs. Then I realized, I got 2 minutes to get home before the kids' school bus comes. I'm always worried because my kids get really petrified when they get home and nobody's there. Good timing though because on my way home the bus was right behind me.

Clean Your Carpet the Dyson Way

Most homes today have floors that are carpeted. Unlike wooden floor, carpeted floor is harder to maintain because it accumulates dust and shows wear and tear regardless of care. The floor in my house is mostly carpeted which is why I'm overly protective of it especially with my clumsy kids around.

Good thing floor cleaning is now an easy chore to do, thanks to the invention of the machine called vacuum cleaner. More importantly, thanks to Dyson for coming up with the root cyclone technology in vacuum cleaners that works excellently well by separating dirt and dust from the air by centrifugal force and collecting it in a bin. With the root cyclone technology, a bag or filter is not necessary and therefore, suction is constant or there's no loss of suction. Dyson vacuum cleaners also captures particles as small as pollen, bacteria and mold spores therefore, expelling clean air.

High quality Dyson upright vacuum cleaners are available in different models, features and colors. The original Root Cyclone Upright (DC 07) has of course, the root cyclone technology. Telescope Reach (DC 14) has the root cyclone technology and telescope reach wand and doesn't require you to attach extra parts to reach high places. Dyson Slim (DC 18) is the lightweight model that has flexible steering, root cyclone technology and telescope reach wand. The Ball (DC 15) twists and turns like no other vacuum and also has the root cyclone technology and telescope reach wand.

Also offered are the easy-to-use Dyson genuine accessories for the different models mentioned such as spot cleaner, mattress tool, dusting brush, stubborn dirt brush, belt twin pack, brush bar and sole plate kit, car cleaning kit, cyclone assembly, hose and many more.

Choose from all the models depending on your specific cleaning needs. Just know that they all provide efficient and effective functions. To have one of them as one of your cleaning tools is definitely a very wise and practical decision to make.

Thanksgiving Feast With The Third Graders

Last Tuesday, Marc and all his fellow third graders had their thanksgiving feast which is actually their yearly tradition before their thanksgiving break. Each student was asked to bring a dish to share with everyone including the parents who were also invited.

To be sure that the food Marc brought was something that everyone would like, I made a Dark Chocolate Cake. Chocolate cake is safe because I think it is a universal dessert. Most people, if not all, like anything chocolate. The feast went very well, and as I expected my cake was one of the best sellers among the desserts.

The very moist Dark Chocolate Cake I proudly made from scratch.

His Name is Rhet

I have been trying my sewing skills on making an air man to help my husband help advertise RoomStore where he works as a sales associate. We bought the real air man last year in Florida and used it everyday leaving it worn out, torn out and useless. But the fans are still excellent so I suggested that I make the airman myself. I thought it was easy and it really is. I just have to find time to make my own unique pattern and design. All I really needed was 5-6 yards of 60-ins wide flag material. I made a tube, added the arms and voila, he came to life! I named him Rhet because the first time we set him up his arms fell limp and he danced like a retard (retarded). He was so funny, I couldnt stop laughing. I fixed him and now he does his job much better.

I'm In

Yup, I'm in. I have just joined the club of bloggers who make money out of blogging as you can see the paid posts I did recently. I started my blog in 2005 and never have I thought that I can actually monetize my blog. Tess urged me to do PPP shortly after she joined the site but I was hesistant because I wasnt willing to commit myself to updating my blog on a regular basis. I used to worked on my blog sporadically.

Then I started to notice more and more bloggers are into this particular online business. I was intrigued and got seriously interested especially that there's not just PPP out there.

This early I already got a handful of opps that I thought, "can I really keep up with this?" But then I have to. If I wanna make money, then I'll do what I have to do.

And before I forget, I want to thank Tess from the bottom of my heart for helping me out when I was signing up in all these sites. She pratically talked me through the entire process.

Again, HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone!!

Marc Meets His Dentist

After 8 years Marc finally found himself in a dental chair last Friday. It was his first dental appointment ever. Unlike other kids who are horrified just at the mention of the word dentist, my son was excited. I did a lot of positive pre conditioning on him though and I did a good job on this.

He's been occasioanally bothered by a toothache for the past few months. I kinda waited for it to naturally come off just like his other baby teeth but this one is different. I really thought he was going to have an extraction that day. Instead the dentist did a filling in his cavity to protect the permanent tooth next to it.

I was just proud of him for being brave. He didnt seem to be intimidated by the different strange looking dental equipment. He got a little scared by the syringe when the dentist was going to give him anaesthesia but the dentist was really nice and gently assuring it wont hurt.

All in all, I'm very happy that Marc's first dental experience was a pleasant one. He's even looking forward to his next appointmet. And it also helped Marielle to feel comfortable, since she also saw the entire procedure done on Marc. Now she's also excited about her own first dental appointment ever next week.

Too much hassle for me this morning because the kids' school bus never came. The bus normally comes at 7:00 AM. Ten minutes before that my kids are already at the bus stop. As soon as they're gone I go back to bed to get more sleep.

I was anxiously waiting for the bus as I watched my kids from the window. They started getting fidgety especially Marc, understably because they've been standing there for so long in a very chilly morning. Finally at 7:20 AM I grabbed my keys and jacket and motioned my kids to come and get in the car. Still in my jammies I drove my kids to school hoping the car wont break down or I wont get pulled over by a cop.

Well, I know things happen. Something must have just gone wrong with the bus or the driver. Whichever, I hope it will be okay soon.

And me... I didnt go back to bed because when I got home, Dean was already up and I didnt feel sleepy anymore.

(Found out later today that their bus broke down and t'will be a little while before it starts running again.)

the bus stop.

standing for so long as they wait for

Childhood Memories

Two posts back I said that my best childhood experience was full of adventure. And it’s because I was always out of the house somewhere. Laagan kaajo, sa Bisaya pa or gala in Tagalog. I’m just glad I had my own share of happy childhood. It’s a great blessing knowing that many kids are deprived of this. I’m grateful too that during my time as a kid having fun meant playing in the great and even wild outdoors by myself or with other kids. Today a lot of children confine themselves with their pc games, playstation or TV for fun. It’s sad. These kids don’t know what real fun is! Here are some of my fun-filled childhood memories I like to share.

Catching Spiders
I remember going with my brother into the woods to find the most unique and strongest spider there is in order to win the spider fight which was big thing especially among the boys. Using a stick we made the arachnids come inside an empty match box. The more the better and we’d nourish them with flies and other insects. It’s gross but that was how we prep them up for the fight.

Full Moon
Every time the moon was bright and full, all the kids were out in the street playing patintero, hide & seek and spin the bottle (truth or dare). We played until we’re dead tired. And there was no fear of getting kidnapped or something. That wasnt even heard of back then in our province.

Swimming Lesson
I learned to swim by myself at the pantalan (pier). With a bunch of other kids we were there almost every Saturday. We didnt mind the scorching heat of the sun which was why I was so dark skinned and my hair was brownish. (Histurang taga-dalagit jud!) We liked it even better if there was a ship docked at the pier. We’d climb up to the front deck ( a la Titanic), jump off and make a huge splash in the water. The adrenalin rush was unmatchable, we kept on climbing back up!

Tree Climbing
I loved climbing trees to pick ripe bayabas, santol, mangga, sampalok, tambis, caimito, balimbing ...name it, I got it! One day during recess me and two of my classmates decided to pick santol. No, actually we decided to steal santol after learning that the owner was away. I climbed up the tree first. One more branch to go and I’d reach that bunch of golden goodies. All of a sudden I heard a loud buzzing. I’ve stirred up a beehive! In a flash I slid down the tree, ouch! and ran away as fast as I could, furious bees behind me. I didnt get any santol. What I got were long red scratches from my chest down to my tummy.

Labada Day
Washing clothes wasnt my favorite thing unless we did it at the river. For me it was more of a picnic day than laundry day. Aside from the huge plangganas, sabon and palo-palo we also brought with us rice, kamote, ginamos and fish, and cook them right there by the river. My task was cooking our lunch and rinsing the clothes using palu-palo which was actually my favorite part of the very tedious, manual and primitive way of washing clothes. When my service wasnt needed I’d wander around enjoying the waterfall, catching shrimps or snails or swimming. We’re done usually late afternoon, and of course I didnt mind carrying planggana heavy with wet clothes on my head because I had so much fun.

Hill Top
There’s this hill close to our house of which I was a regular climber because of the many guava and kalachuchi trees up there. I just loved the sweet smell of kalachuchi. I picked the flowers and turned them into leis or takyan ( sipa in Tagalog). One day my aunt asked me to babysit her son. She said not to go anywhere until she returns but the super laagan (gala) that I was, I took my 4 year old cousin with me up to the hill. Realizing that I was gonna be in big trouble if my aunt found out what I did, I kinda threatened my cousin. I saw that he enjoyed the hilly adventure very much so I told him that he must not tell his mom or anyone or else I wouldnt take him up there again. He agreed! We climbed the hill a couple more times later. And he never ever really told anybody until years later.

Well, I can go on and on with more pero siempre hanggang dito na lang kasi super haba na. You may want to share some happy experiences from your childhood too.

It’s late, good night!

Of Kris Aquino

I was watching "Boy and Kris" one afternoon. Marc was on the other end of the couch doodling his all-time favorite cartoon character, Naruto.

Without looking at the TV and just hearing Kris talking in her trademark accent and high pitch tone, Marc asked, "Is that girl crazy, Ma?"

"No, she's a famous celebrity and talk show host in the Philippines," I said.

"Well, all she does is shriek, her voice is hurting my ears ...I mean, seriously. I better go to my room." And off Marc went.

It's true sometimes Kris' voice can be annoying and she talks so maarte. Remember, when she made tusok-tusok the fishball? In fairness, this woman who I think is maarte confessed that fishball is a favorite of hers.
Sorry to her die-hard fans. I like her naman e. For why else do I watch her show?

The Wicker Man- A Huge Bummer
This movie doesnt even deserve a rating. I saw it last night on TV. I should have taken time to check a review about this film before spending my precious 2 hours on it. I like Nicolas Cage because he's a very effective actor but in this film he was pathetic. I dont know why he had to do this after his really great movies, like "Face Off" "The Rock" and "City of Angels". Kate Beahan as Sister Willow looked really crazy, alright. She got that right. She got me confused. If that was her goal, she was so good at it. If there was any good thing I got from watching this movie, it was the cuddle time with Dean who however, kept saying "you really like weird movies!"

It's Chilly!

It's been unusually super chilly for me for the past few days and mornings have been frosty. Temp doesnt get this low in Florida until December or January. Right now it's 36F and quite windy too which made it worse especially because we went to the school tonight for Marielle's "Math Masters Night" event. From there we went to Ryan's Resto for dinner. I wished I just made dinner so we could go straight back home.

I can just imagine how much colder I would be if we pushed through with our plan to drive up to Corning, New York tonight! The family reunion that we're supposed to attend on Saturday has been re-scheduled, I guess, I'm not really sure what happened. We still plan to go north probably in January, God willing.

Marielle is one of the Math Masters in her class.

These young Math Masters are challenging the guest parents their mathematical skills through games. The lady in purple jacket is Ms. Sanders, their teacher. She's nice!

That's me accepting the multiplication challenge. Good thing, I beat this boy or else it's gonna be totally embarassing if I lost!

When it comes to Math, I dont know if I can say I'm smarter than a 4th grader. Math is my weakness.

Why Go to Church?

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I've gone for 30 years now," he wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:

"I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this. They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!"

When you are DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment!
