Early to Bed....Lazy to Rise
Summer season isn’t over yet but the kids’ summer break is. Their classes started two days ago. I got a screwed up body clock again. I’ve been suffering from insomnia since Monday because my body hasn’t adjusted yet to it's new sleep time and wake-up time. It’s just one of the worst things that can happen to me. I’ve lived with insomnia, though on and off since I was a college stude struggling to maintain my scholarship by getting good grades. Back then exam week meant sleepless nights and boring my head into my textbooks and notes while downing big bottles of coke soda or coffee in a bottomless cup. But the best thing about it is I finished my degree. As the saying goes, "no gain, no glory."
Marielle and Marc are now in third and second grade respectively. After their first day in school, I asked them how their classes went. Marielle said she likes her teacher very much. She even added that she likes her better than her previous teachers. And Marc, as always he complained about his teacher being so tough because she gives him homework everyday. Well I think in general boys dont like school very much. Marc even said, "I wish summer break is longer than school."
This school year, I think my routines will be a little different. Somewhere in my previous posts I mentioned that I’ve signed up for an online study on Medical Transcription. But I changed my mind soon after I got my first textbook and saw all those medical terms that I have to memorize. I was overwhelmed. Then last Saturday through my husband’s prodding, I attended a substitute teacher training workshop . I’ll be working as on-call sub teacher. I don’t know how often I’ll get called to work but at least I got something else to do. One thing is sure though is I have to be ready anytime they call me which can be as early as 6 AM. I hate to get up early but I want to make some money!
The kids' first day...here waiting for me to drive them to school.
